The IDE features advanced text editing capabilities, i.e. code completion, code templates, code folding, and includes class management, built-in help, a GUI designer (Stetic), project support, and an integrated debugger.

MonoDevelop makes it easy for developers to port .NET applications created with Visual Studio to Linux and to maintain a single code base for all platforms. Supported languages C#, Visual Basic.Net, C/C++, Vala.

The logo of Mono is a stylized monkey face, mono itself meaning monkey in Spanish.
